Our week in outfits

1 week x 14 outfits x sustainability from head to toe.

The Norwegian summer means days spent swimming in lakes, reading on the balcony and eating wild berries. On the best days you’re warm enough to go to the beach and wear whatever summer fashion you desire, but usually you never quite know what the weather will be like; A cloudless sky, wind, rain, sun, and then thunderstorms (sometimes even snow) - all in one day.

As you probably know by now, we’re moving to London next week. Therefore, we decided to capture one of our last weeks here in our home town on the Norwegian west coast - by allowing our outfits to tell the story. Here is a glimpse into what one week in our daily lives during late summer looks like.

Inspiration: The color red: I decided to pick a sweater, ring and lipstick that matched my red nail polish. I also had in mind that I wanted to wear something warm and comfortable to work + an afternoon spent outside. In retrospect, it reminds me of something my mother would wear in the 90’s.

So I put on a light blouse, some lavender eyeshadow and pulled my hair back with a pair of minimalistic hair-clips that reminds me of my summer in Greece a few years back.

Inspiration: The Parisienne with a twist, which is a favorite look of mine. I often find myself inspired by the classic Parisian fashion (especially from the 60’s), and like to add a personal touch to it. This time, I chose a vintage blouse from France, some fitted jeans, gold hoops and red lipstick - to capture that French vibe + a pair of platform docs from the 90’s as the little twist.

To make the look more interesting I added some big golden hoops, a Glossier canvas bag that matches my sweater and a bit of red lipstick (I’m a big fan of red lipstick if you haven’t noticed already💋).

Inspiration: 50’s menswear. It’s often overshadowed by the swing dresses, matching pastel accessory and the bullet bra from the same time period, but what I like about 50’s menswear in particular is the way quality tailoring is a main priority. The overall design can be simple, but because of the attention to tailoring and detail, the outfit looks refined and unique. My version of that was to combine a white and simple silk blouse and a pair of vintage flared pants (similar to men’s dress pants in the 50’s).

Inspiration: Saturday! Since I wasn’t going to work today, I felt like experimenting. I wanted the outfit to push me outside my normal comfort zone and be kind of kitchy; combining colors and textures I wouldn’t normally mix and match, but that somehow works together. I’m not sure how I feel about this look yet, but I think I’m a fan?

Inspiration: Minimalism. This sunny and lazy Sunday, my olive knit dress seemed like the natural choice, but I wanted an overall minimalistic look, which is why I went for a bit of clear lipgloss and a pair of vintage sunglasses.

Inspiration: My mother - and the weather, considering how it was super windy whilst also being warm. This outfit was perfect for walking around outside all day! Also, how perfect is this green color?! So greatful for this purchase. My rings were either passed down from my mother or given to me by my family for my 18th birthday last year and made locally by a Danish silversmith!

Inspiration: None, to be honest. I spent most of the day working on personal projects so my intent was to be as comfy as possible. However, this is defiantly an outfit you’ll find me wearing out and about as well.

Inspiration: Baseball outfits & 90’ dad fashion; comfy, sporty, yet classy - and not to mention fun! I bought the top from a vintage store in Stavanger, which since then has become a go-to for both dressy and chill occasions. To add something extra, I picked a black purse to keep all my eco goodies whilst having a productive day.
